Gas safety
A Gas Safe registered engineer should have a Gas Safe Register ID card and should be able and qualified to work with gas on tasks including:
- installation
- maintenance
- servicing
If they are not registered, they are breaking the law. Look for the yellow Gas Safe Register triangle.
Risks from gas appliances
When safely installed, regularly maintained and used properly, gas installations and appliances are safe. However, if not managed properly then the risk of the following is increased:
- fire
- an explosion
- carbon monoxide poisoning.
